On October 27, 2023, Ramsays Corporation Pvt Ltd, in collaboration with FEEED Trust, launched a significant corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to rejuvenate a pond in Shollinganallur. This project aims to restore and revitalize a key water body, enhancing local water resources, promoting biodiversity, and improving the overall environmental health of the community. The rejuvenation activities include desilting to increase the pond’s water-holding capacity, implementing measures to ensure water quality, planting native trees and aquatic plants to enhance biodiversity, and engaging the community in the pond’s maintenance and monitoring. The primary objectives are to restore the pond’s ecological balance, improve the local water supply quality, recharge the groundwater table, create a green space for recreational and educational purposes, and promote environmental stewardship among residents.
