TESTIMONIALS

The world around us is filled with massive inequality. While some have access to air conditioners, cars and easy access to healthcare, others toil for food, shelter, and medicine. I have been in the former category my whole life. I grew up in an environment where all my needs were met with great comfort. Although I was aware of how privileged I was compared to others, I did not think I could make any difference as a student. Nowadays, students are occupied in their studies for the major part of their day. They constantly hear from others about the pain and suffering the less fortunate bear. They are told that charity is divine and godly. Yet, they are rarely given the opportunity to make an actual impact. FEEED gave me a platform and opportunity to help those with less privilege than me. They gave me the chance to see my surroundings in a different light. I was more compassionate and empathetic to other’s pain and toll. They gave me the chance to talk to those who have faced and still face numerous obstacles. I grew up wondering how hard life must be for those who cannot afford healthcare or those born with illnesses. Thanks to FEEED, I spoke to such people. Their resilience and optimism in front of tremendous challenges not only inspired me but also helped me develop gratitude for all the things I have in my life. FEEED allowed me to use my skills to better people’s lives. Working with a non-profit showed me just how small my problems are and that the real world is a tough place to live for many. Not only is doing this allowing me to feel better about myself, but it is also helping me develop leadership and communication skills. I really have to thank FEEED for giving me this opportunity

FEEED INTERN

FEEED provided me with the opportunity to learn about a world I didn’t know through my life and to reconsider the sustainability of society and how difficult it is. I grew up in an environment where all my needs were comfortably met, but after moving to India in 2012, I became acutely aware of the numerous inequalities in the world and how privileged I am compared to others. Every time I reflect on the smallness of my contributions to society, I feel a sense of shame. However, I was deeply inspired by Mr. Jerome, who is the same age as me, and his passion for empathizing with others’ pain and struggles and taking action step by step. This made me want to continue doing whatever small things I can as a corporate partner. Meeting Mr. Jerome has given me the opportunity to face the harsh realities of society that I couldn’t have known in Japan and to think about what I can do to find some hope in those situations. For this, I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity of being partner of FEEED.
